Based upon this, the vehicle will tell you when you should change the oil. This is shown by the wrench ( or 2 wrenches depending on if the vehicle is due for its Flex A or Flex B service ) counting down from either 30 days before you should change it or 1000 km ( I'm not sure what the mileage countdown is for miles/American Benz vehicles ). Scroll through the steering wheel menu and you can call up the time or mileage interval to the next recommended service. If the number appears as a negative, that means that the service is past due.

The message will appear on the dash, and will be based on input from the oil quality sensor and mileage. This will happen at anywhere from 9000 to 13000 miles, depending on how you drive. Don't be surprised if it's a year between changes.
