Getting an oil change (Jiffy Lube)?

Ok, don't make fun of me. I've never gotten an oil change on my own. Someone else has always done it for me. So... I need to take it in soon to have it changed. I'm thinking of just going to my local Jiffy Lube.

~Do I need to make an appointment, or do I just show up?

~How much does it cost?

Thanks!!Getting an oil change (Jiffy Lube)? You shouldn't need an appointment. Most Jiffy Lubes will have attendants who guide you into the bay and if you don't feel like driving over the pit (it looks like you're going to fall in) you can have one of their guys do it. Oil changes are pretty simple and depending on the state of your vehicle, it shouldn't take too long to get done.

In response to your second question, the cost varies depending on several options. Most Jiffy Lubes (at least the ones I've been to) try to tack on extras that you probably don't need, like Antifreeze changes etc. If your car isn't too old, you can probably get by with just a plain old oil change. It will run you between 30 dollars all the way up to 80 dollars. It all depends on your choices of what work they perform for your car.

Don't let them try to do something you don't want them to do.Getting an oil change (Jiffy Lube)?Don't let them know that you don't know much about cars or never change your oil. They will take you for a ride especially if you are female. Pretend you know sometime about cars like when they ask you what type of car is it? Don't just say um I thinks it's a Nissan. Say it's a 99 Nissan Altima GXE with a 2.4 Liter engine 16 valve dual cam front wheel drive manual transmission. Should cost no more than $35 usually under $30. If they ask to change air filter or any other filuds say no thanks to everything. You can do that yourself for so much less with no tools at all. Also they might charge you for it if you say yes and end up not even doing what it is they say they were suppose to be doing. Lots of scams beware.Getting an oil change (Jiffy Lube)? You do NOT need appointment.

The cost is about $25 to $35.

Good Luck...Getting an oil change (Jiffy Lube)?Call your local Jiffy Lube for the info you want.
